The community service committee seeks out community needs and fulfills them while increasing the visibility for and promoting the reputation of Rotary.  Committee projects include:

 

  1. Quarterly Service Projects - Provide meaningful community volunteering opportunities for members to get out into the community in place of a regular club lunch meeting, and help those in need, give back to the community.
  2. Medal of Valor - Honor those people in our community’s safety forces for their meritorious service and heroism, and for going above and beyond the call of duty, exemplifying the Rotary principle, “Service Above Self.”
  3. Community Service Award - Honor a member of the community that has visibly served the community to make it a better place to live.
  4. Red Line Greenway Rapid Beautification - A 40 plus year project, beginning with beautification of the West 25th Street Rapid Site.  Together with our partners Cleveland Metroparks and RTA, a vision to build a world-class greenway to the heart of downtown Cleveland that will serve 57,000 people and be the highest elevated greenway on an active railroad in America.
  5. Little Free Library - Build a library house each year in order to increase literacy for children in the Cleveland school district.
  6. Salvation Army - Help those that are displaced from their homes in Cleveland by serving dinner once per month at the Salvation Army.
  7. Oversight of the City Side Garden Site located on our Rotary Plaza across from the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and The Great Lakes Science Center.
