2016 International Award Recipient - Mayor Frank G. Jackson, City of Cleveland

 

This committee is dedicated to the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace by using the unique worldwide Rotary resources. Committee projects include:

 

  1. Inbound and Outbound Youth Exchange Program.
  2. District 6630 Cleveland Day - Host Inbound Youth Exchange Students for a day.
  3. International Services Award - Honors an individual or organization that has demonstrated a dedication to the furtherance of world understanding and peace. 
  4. Develop the relationships between the Rotary Club of Cleveland and Rotary Clubs in Beleze, Lithuania, Ukraine, and other areas where our members have outreach opportunities, to foster world understanding and peace.
  5. Develop relationships and programs between the Rotary Club of Cleveland and the Rotary Clubs of Accra, Ghana (West Africa Centre for Peace Foundation), Malawi, and Lithuania.
  6. Develop partnership opportunities with other local international organizations.
  7. Support the process for obtaining applications and implement accordingly, to receive worthy candidates for Global Grants (Scholarships), and Rotary Peace Fellowships for consideration by Rotary District 6630.
  8. Assist the Program Committee with speakers on international topics of interest- one in the fall and, in particular, for World Understanding Month (February) – International Fellowship Day.
