ROY F. KNAPP JR.
President
CONSULTECH, INC.

Roy is an international trade advisor with over thirty years of “hands-on” executive experience providing specialized consulting services to clients that need to be, or want to be, much more effective as they compete in the global economy.  His corporate CV includes projects serving both the public and private sectors, on assignments in twenty-five states and in eight countries.  Past projects range from a comprehensive array of Foreign Trade Zone projects across America: from Maine to California; Ohio to Texas; from maquilladora manufacturing operations in Renosa, Mexico, to privatization efforts of a former Soviet (nuclear) airbase in Lithuania, which was done in conjunction with the World Bank.

His practice primarily covers the use and implementation of Foreign Trade Zones; the integration of facility rationalization, global logistics and supply chain management analyses; implementation and utilization of various international trade management techniques; and synthesizing corporate management, operations, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, and transportation elements to facilitate greater global competitiveness.  He advocates ‘public-private partnerships’ as a successful model to create and ensure ‘win-win’ situations for clients-public and private; by including all involved parties; share-holders, stakeholders, and impacted constituencies.  Roy, along with his firm, CONSULTECH Inc., remains the only consultant to ever be conferred with the Ohio Governor’s “E” Award; for Excellence in Exporting (awarded when his Ohio clientele collectively reached $100B in export sales through the use of their diverse FTZ projects.

He has served as a board trustee and/or president to over fifty business and global trade related organizations and associations, and also serves on the Capital Committee of the Holden Arboretum.

He has been married for 56 years to his wife Donna, is the proud father of three, and is the exceptionally proud grandfather of eleven future international trade practitioners!

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage
  • The nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.
  • Over the last 20 years, the number of people donating blood to the Red Cross has fallen by more than 40%.
  • Additional challenges lie ahead as winter weather and seasonal illnesses like the flu and COVID-19 may compound the dire blood supply situation the nation currently faces.
  • Blood products are currently going to hospitals faster than blood donations are coming in. In recent weeks, the Red Cross has had to limit distributions of some of the most transfused blood types to hospitals.
  • Make an appointment to give blood or platelets now by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visitingRedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
