Volunteer Day!
Thursday, May 29, 2025
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Footpath Foundation
7777 W. Pleasant Valley Dr.
Parma, OH  44130

Come and join us in making "Outdoor Connection Kits" for our Cleveland kids! We will put together string packs full of outdoor fun (like chalk, balls, bubbles and bug catchers) for kids to use this summer.
(Food will be served at 11:30 a.m.)

The event will be held inside the Footpath Headquarters located at: 7777 W. Pleasant Valley Rd., Parma, 44130. It is a ranch house that was transformed into Footpath's offices. There is a long driveway. Please pull all the way up and park on the concrete bus turnaround pad or in front of the garage or behind the house on the gravel driveway. Please be careful as some of the gravel is rather loose. If you'd like a tour of the land after the event, please wear long pants and boots or shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

The past 2 years the Cleveland Rotary Foundation has supported Footpath Foundation in their efforts to provide kids from Cleveland Metropolitan School District the opportunity to explore the outdoors.

Footpath Foundation connects youth to nature, providing outdoor experiences they would not otherwise have. Opportunities such as hiking, exploring, fishing, and camping help kids become more resilient, improve their physical and mental health, and develop life-enhancing skills.

Footpath Foundation believes all children deserve access to nature and outdoor experiences. These experiences are the building blocks that help kids become responsible adults and leaders in their communities. Footpath Foundation provides children who lack access to the natural world the kinds of outdoor activities that enrich their overall development, health, and well-being.

Along the way, kids experience personal growth, improve self-awareness and increase their appreciation for nature.

American Red Cross Blood Donor Day, July 17, 2025

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage
  • The nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.
  • Over the last 20 years, the number of people donating blood to the Red Cross has fallen by more than 40%.
  • Additional challenges lie ahead as winter weather and seasonal illnesses like the flu and COVID-19 may compound the dire blood supply situation the nation currently faces.
  • Blood products are currently going to hospitals faster than blood donations are coming in. In recent weeks, the Red Cross has had to limit distributions of some of the most transfused blood types to hospitals.
  • Make an appointment to give blood or platelets now by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visitingRedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
