David Rosen
"Insight into the California Wild Fires"

David Rosen is a Northeast Ohio native now fully embedded in the Northern California Redwoods along the Russian River.  He is CEO of Grove Street Wine Brokers, offering limited release wines from California and Europe to individual wine lovers across the US for over 30 years.  He also ran website design and application development startups back in the early days of the modern internet—both as a Director for NYC-based Poppe Tyson, the largest web firm of the mid 1990s—and then his own agencies in the Greater Cleveland area.  David is also a professional musician, producer and singer/songwriter.  He has toured across the globe as a member of Peter Tork’s band, the Elvin Bishop Band, and been featured on recordings with Grammy-winner Steve Seskin, Tom Paxton, David Rea (from Joni Mitchell, Mountain, Fairport Convention, Ian & Sylvia) and many others—and was featured on the 2009 album The Best of Blasphemy along with the legendary Tom Lehrer.  David’s debut album Ordinary Miracles features Joe Vitale, drummer for Joe Walsh, The Eagles, CSN&Y, Peter Frampton and a veteran of over 50 Gold and Platinum albums.

David is on the board of the Friends of Rio Nido a 501(c)3 in Sonoma County where he lives.  He has led numerous initiatives including Habitat Restoration, Emergency Preparedness, Wildfire Mitigation, and most recently was instrumental in securing a major grant to implement a large-scale Shaded Fuel Break designed to protect residents and properties within and around the canyon ridgelines surrounding a number of towns and villages.

Other bio tidbits in no particular order... He graduated with the State of Ohio’s first-ever degree in Multimedia, created John Glenn’s first website, devoted many years in Cleveland alongside the amazing Carl Cook working with homeless and refugee citizens, was featured on the cover of INC Magazine, he’s raised 3 children, is a devoted Buddhist meditator, has a popular YouTube Channel that features his music videos and performances, and is a contributing writer for the Sonoma County Gazette and host of the Ordinary Miracles Radio Show on KOWS Radio.  He also occasionally eats and sleeps.

American Red Cross Blood Donor Day, March 27, 2025

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage
  • The nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.
  • Over the last 20 years, the number of people donating blood to the Red Cross has fallen by more than 40%.
  • Additional challenges lie ahead as winter weather and seasonal illnesses like the flu and COVID-19 may compound the dire blood supply situation the nation currently faces.
  • Blood products are currently going to hospitals faster than blood donations are coming in. In recent weeks, the Red Cross has had to limit distributions of some of the most transfused blood types to hospitals.
  • Make an appointment to give blood or platelets now by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visitingRedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
