The Rotary Club of Cleveland cultivates a diverse community of informed professionals working collectively to create a positive impact by exchanging ideas, forming meaningful, lifelong friendships, and giving back to our community.
Chris Hallacy recently joined The Rotary Club of Cleveland after moving to Cleveland last summer. He moved from San Francisco where he spent the last decade working at multiple tech companies as a software engineer.
Chris is currently a Member of the Technical Staff at OpenAI where he's developed models and helped launch ChatGPT for the last 6 years. Before that, he worked at a number of startups and did a brief stint at Google. On occasion he's also known to go traveling for months at a time.
When he's not working, he's usually at the Food Bank volunteer events trying to out-sass Paul Qua. He usually fails.

Computers Assisting People needs our help!
Over the decades, Computers Assisting People always have ebbs and flows on donations of equipment, volunteers and places to donate to. Right now they have enough volunteers but are running low on both PCs to refurbish and donate and places that need PCs.
If you have equipment to donate and/or know of schools/501c3's that needs PCs/computer labs/and the like, Please email Dan Hanson (dan@magnuminc.com) to arrange details.

American Red Cross Blood Donor Day, July 17, 2025
The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage
The nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not delayed.
Over the last 20 years, the number of people donating blood to the Red Cross has fallen by more than 40%.
Additional challenges lie ahead as winter weather and seasonal illnesses like the flu and COVID-19 may compound the dire blood supply situation the nation currently faces.
Blood products are currently going to hospitals faster than blood donations are coming in. In recent weeks, the Red Cross has had to limit distributions of some of the most transfused blood types to hospitals.
Make an appointment to give blood or platelets now by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visitingRedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
